Taylor Walton supports business growth with appointment of leading private equity partner

High profile appointment designed to extend City standards of quality and expertise beyond London.

Taylor Walton has today announced the appointment of Simon Hughes as a corporate partner and to head up its private equity and venture capital practice.

Simon is a significant appointment for the firm, strengthening the existing corporate and commercial team. He joins from Baker & McKenzie’s London office, where he formerly led their global private equity practice.

“After 25 years in the City, Taylor Walton offers an opportunity for me to bring the skills and experience gained on a global platform to a broader base of investment funds, corporates and management teams in the South East.” Simon commented on his recent move.

“I am excited about the opportunity to offer the sorts of support and advice that organisations both in and outside London have previously been unable to access, without paying City of London rates.”

In discussing the recent appointment, Managing Partner Dermot Carey said “We are truly excited to welcome Simon to the Taylor Walton team.

As an intrinsic part of the regional business community, we are dedicated to supporting businesses, both large and small, with first-class legal support. Simon brings with him an unrivalled depth of transactional experience that will help our clients to achieve their business objectives.”

Simon advises on domestic and international M&A, buyouts, joint ventures, equity investments, management incentivisation, restructuring and other corporate transactions.
