On Thursday 9 June, the Hertfordshire Law Society held its annual gala dinner, the first since the start of the pandemic and an opportunity for legal professionals across the region to celebrate together and recognise the talent within their ranks.
Taylor Walton hosted a table at the event held at The Old Palace at Hatfield House and one of those in attendance was Lauren Windsor, who won the award for highest Legal Practice Course (LPC) result gained by a trainee solicitor.
Stephanie Simon, People & Talent Partner at Taylor Walton commented: “This award epitomises the dedication Lauren has shown in her training here at Taylor Walton, where she has already become an important member of our residential conveyancing team.
“This award also recognises the training and mentoring environment we have developed to support the young talented legal professionals we attract to the firm. It’s been a busy 12 months for the residential conveyancing team and Lauren has clearly soaked up a lot of practical knowledge.
“Lauren was first introduced to our collegial and supportive culture during her law degree, when she joined our summer vacation scheme, before starting her training contract in September 2021. and will be become a fully trained solicitor in September 2023. She has a bright future and we look forward to nurturing her talent and helping her exceed her career expectations.”
Lauren said of her award: “This was the icing on the cake at what was a superb event. It was great to get back out and celebrate in person, particularly with the team from Taylor Walton that has supported me so well at the start of my legal career.
“Although I was the one to step up and receive the award from Herts Law Society President Steven Hamilton, I feel the award is a testament to the mentoring of those around me and firm’s ongoing commitment to training and development of all its people.”
It was a successful night for Taylor Walton, with Olive McCarthy, a Partner & Arbitrator in the Family Law Department. winning the Community Engagement award in recognition of her unstinting support for Citizens Advice East Herts and the Hertford Child Contact Centre.
