Howard Byers

Trainee Solicitor

Taylor Walton’s vacation scheme was a terrific experience that gave me great insight into the Firm and let me get to know the people who are now my co-workers.

Working in the Corporate and Commercial and Commercial Real Estate Departments gave me experience assisting fee earners on important files by drafting documents, attending meetings, and researching aspects of law.  If you’re interested in joining Taylor Walton and want to see first-hand how the Firm works, then you should definitely apply for this scheme.

During the scheme I was invited to join a social event where we took a short walk around the Harpenden countryside after work (with a quick drink afterwards).  In the second week of the scheme our supervisors also took us out for lunch, which allowed us to get to know them a bit better and thank them for their support during the scheme.

There are plenty of Trainees and newly qualified Solicitors at Taylor Walton, which means we always have someone to support us when we need it.  At the end of the scheme the Trainees took all of the placement students out to dinner after work, which was a brilliant opportunity for us all to discuss what we thought about the Firm and our experiences over the previous two weeks.
