About the Team

Based in the Firm’s commercially focused Luton branch our Employment team offer business focused services to internal HR resources and businesses without dedicated HR resource.  The team will also act in a personal interest for senior employees.

Our Employment team deal with businesses within a wide range of sectors and its success comes from taking an in-depth interest in the clients and offering practical and direct commercially minded legal solutions.

Our Employment solicitors offer services covering all aspects of employment law including TUPE, employment terminations, employment tribunal support, business reorganisations and redundancies.

For businesses who do not have any dedicated HR resource the Firm’s employment team also offer these businesses services such as assistance with day-to-day HR issues, applying employment law to business objectives and assisting with businesses to ensure they are compliant with current and future legislation.

As part of supporting our clients and contributing to them keeping up to date with the latest employment law, the team drafts a monthly e-news update.

Person & Skill Specification

  • Employment Solicitor with 1-2 years PQE
  • Whilst the supervising Partner will be responsible for managing the client relationship at this stage, the successful candidate should develop communication skills and confidence liaising with third parties
  • Have a commitment to marketing to both existing and new clients in the form of writing articles, newsletters and networking at workshops/seminars.
  • Have a commitment to self-development and maintaining up-to-date legal knowledge is an essential part of the role
  • Organisation skills – having efficient systems to manage a busy caseload which will involve diarising to ensure key deadlines and realistic client expectations are met
  • Works well in a team with good communication skills
  • Has the ability to work effectively with clients of different backgrounds, ages and with different requirements

Your Opportunity to Join our Team

We are pleased to offer the opportunity for a candidate of 1-2 years PQE to join our Employment team based in our Luton office.

Working under supervision and closely with a Partner, the successful candidate will need to be able to assist on all aspects of employment law work whilst in the meantime gaining a broad experience across the spectrum of employment legal issues.

The successful candidate should have some familiarity with the process on some employment issues such as unfair & wrongful dismissal, employment contracts & breaches, discrimination, protected characteristics and redundancies.

With support as considered necessary, the successful candidates will work towards providing expert solutions on a wide range of employment and HR related services.  The successful candidate will provide these services to a range of different clients including owner manager businesses and some national companies, all in different industry/market sectors.

A large part of the role will involve keeping up-to-date with every update and amendment to employment law.
