About the Team
Based across all of the Firm’s branch offices our reputable Residential Conveyancing team is made up of specialist property lawyers which has led to the Firm gaining a reputation as one of the leading property law firms in the South East.
The size and calibre of the team means that we are able to offer a wide range of complex residential property related services such as transfer of equity, buy to let investments and equity release, in addition to the re-mortgaging buying and selling services.
In recognition of the high standards of the Residential Conveyancing team the Firm has been awarded the Law Society’s CQS (Conveyancing Quality Scheme) award. The focus of the team is to deliver a dedicated, personalised service to our clients whilst providing tailored expert legal advice. Our Residential Conveyancing lawyers have an in-depth knowledge of the local and wider property market which acts as a real advantage for our clients.
Person & Skill Specification
- Extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of conveyancing matters is essential – from standard sale and purchase matters to more complicated new build transactions. Being able to quickly read into files and step-in to handle a busy caseload is a key part of this role.
- Proficient with online systems and able to utilise a complex document management system.
- Excellent communication skills and be able to easily hand back a caseload to the relevant Fee Earner with sufficient handover notes.
- Flexibility and being able to travel easily – and on occasions at short notice – to any of the Firm’s branch offices (located in Luton, Harpenden and St Albans).
- Ability to work effectively with clients of different backgrounds, ages and with different requirements.

Your Opportunity to Join our Team
There is a rare opportunity for a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor of 5 years PQE+ to join the Firm as an Internal Locum Solicitor. The role will involve the successful candidate covering the annual leave (and other absence) of fee earners within the Residential Conveyancing team across all three of the Firm’s offices (Luton, Harpenden and St Albans).
The Internal Locum Solicitor will cover a wide range of holiday bookings in the department including Partner’s holiday and the Head of Residential Conveyancing.
On the rare occasion that there is no holiday or absence to be covered, the Internal Locum Solicitor will be directed by the Head of Residential Conveyancing on where to assist in the team.
The role requires a flexible approach and someone who is able to tackle files at any stage of a transaction. The Residential Conveyancing department deals with a wide variety of conveyancing matters and also a large volume of cases – therefore it is essential that the successful candidate has the necessary level of experience and is able to thrive in a very fast paced environment.
