Claire Baynham is a Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation Department. She advises both individual and business clients on a wide range of commercial disputes.
After graduating from the University of Durham, Claire had a successful career in IT at a major international oil company before deciding that her future was in the law. Claire subsequently studied for her Graduate Diploma in Law and her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London before completing her training contract at Taylor Walton. Claire qualified as a Solicitor into the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department in 2008.
Claire currently acts for and advises clients on High Court and County Court claims across a number of different areas including commercial contract disputes, property litigation and breaches of restrictive covenants by former employees.
Claire’s experience includes complex and high value cases for a variety of clients from individuals to large corporations. Claire has experience of acting for clients from industry sectors such as property development, IT, manufacturing and retail.
Her focus is on achieving commercial and pragmatic solutions to her clients’ disputes, preferably prior to the commencement of any Court proceedings or at an early stage in the proceedings. As such, Claire has participated in a number of successful Mediations and other forms of without prejudice meetings and negotiations.
Claire is also an active member of the firm’s marketing and IT strategy initiatives.
