After occupying management roles in the NHS in Leeds and Edinburgh, Jim joined British Gas in Croydon where he became the Regional Administration Manager for the South East in the run up to privatisation. He then began his legal career by becoming the Financial Controller at Waterhouse & Co (now part of Field Fisher) in St Pauls, before he moved into broader management roles firstly with Blyth Denton and then LG before stopping commuting. He joined Taylor Walton in May 1991 and has led the administration and been part of the management team of the Firm ever since. In 1994 he was single-handedly responsible for the Firm moving into the offices in Alma Street Luton, which remain the focal point of the Firm today.

He is particularly involved in all aspects of the Firm’s budgeting and forecasting, and the performance management of senior staff. The Firm’s main support managers report to him and he retains an involvement in both the recruitment of senior fee earning staff and the Firm’s trainees.
