Richard Crocker is the Head of Taylor Walton’s Private Client department and works with a team that provides a high quality service in our area, as well as further afield. He offers advice on a wide range of issued including Wills, Probate, Powers of Attorney and Inheritance Tax planning using lifetime Trusts.
After graduating in History from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1973, his first career was with British Telecom where he was involved in planning the development of the international telecommunications network, and negotiating international agreements,. Having decided to become a lawyer, Richard was articled in London with Beale and Company, and following qualification as a solicitor in 1989, joined the well know London firm, Withers LLP, where he worked in the Probate department for 7 years.
He joined Taylor Walton in 1997, becoming a Partner in 2000, and has headed the Private Client department since 2004. He is based in the Harpenden office. During his time as department head, the team has increased significantly in size and expertise, and has been consistently included in the Legal 500’s Top Tier for Private Client advice for many years and is a panel member of the Law Society’s Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS).
Richard has succeeded in his ambition of creating a team capable of providing the level and quality of service generally considered to be the natural territory of London firms, but at less than London prices. He places the highest importance on providing outstanding client service.
