Dealing with every day employment matters as well as more complex issues can be tricky for businesses that do not have in-house HR support. Taylor Walton’s employment law team appreciates that business leaders are not HR managers and that their priority is to protect their business and to be aware of the pitfalls of employment law.
Taylor Walton’s Employment Law Support & Workshop Programme
Taylor Walton’s employment law team is committed to providing practical advice and hands on support to its clients. The employment law team at Taylor Walton produces a quarterly newsletter on topical issues alongside regular briefing notes which provide comments and guidance on common tricky issues. Taylor Walton also offers a free workshop programme designed to support business leaders to get to grips with recent developments. We will be running the following workshops in the coming months:
Workshop 1 – What are the risks associated with engaging off – payroll workers, contractors, consultants and IR35 companies?
Businesses face challenging and difficult decisions concerning their workforce models as a result of recent decisions concerning the status of individuals working for organisations and HMRC tax reforms for contractors, consultants and IR35 companies. Join us at our workshop to find out about the risks your business may face and to assist you in making informed decisions about your future workforce model.
Workshop 2 – If an employee or worker alleges sexual harassment in the workplace, can your business successfully defend such a claim?
It is increasingly difficult for employers to successfully defend such claims unless they adopt best practice measures designed to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. At this workshop we will discuss steps all businesses should take pro-actively to protect their business and to enable them to defend claims successfully.
Workshop 3 – How to deal with difficult GDPR issues.
2018 saw a flurry of activity as businesses sought to ensure that their businesses were GDPR compliant. At this workshop we will focus on the more difficult issues relating to GDPR.
Workshop 4 – Tackling poor performance in the workplace
Business leaders often shy away from dealing with poorly performing employees as the process is perceived to be time consuming and often thwarted by the employee. We will look at this area and offer business leaders practical guidance to assist them in conducting efficient performance management plans and provide advice on how to tackle common problems that arise.
